Long Days Black Fine Loden

Wide fitting, oversized trousers cut from a densely woven, brushed, fine wool Loden in black. Feature a drawstring waist with no elastic, allowing excess volume to be distributed across the waist to the wearer's liking, font on-seam pockets, and rear flap closure welt pockets. Volume created by the generous fit at the waist renders a strong column-like silhouette that hangs freely from the hips, complementing the drape of the wool. Constructed using french seams and fine single needle flat felled seams for a long lasting, fully encased finish; completed pocket linings in a fine, undyed cotton twill.

 

The Fine Loden cloth is 240gsm winter woollen woven at a 5th generation mill in Austria using super fine Australian Merino wool. After weaving, the fabric is treated in a warm soapy bath and a compression machine, causing it to shrink significantly and take on a super dense, more plush, felt-like texture. Despite their light weight the fine Lodens are insulating, hardwearing, and handle many wears with ease before need for washing.
