Lot 113 Open Collar Shirt Akitasugi Beige

Lot 113 Open Collar Shirt Akitasugi Beige

A relaxed fitting, short sleeved button-front shirt cut from a lightweight cotton/rayon shirting with a subtle textured check in light beige. Features an open convertible collar, a left breast pocket, a clean-finished rear yoke with subtle gathers at the shoulders, and a flat hem. Airy proportions with a roomy body and sleeves offer an effortless silhouette referencing the elegant timeless look of 1950's American sportswear. Constructed using fine single needle flat felled seams throughout for a long lasting, encased finish; Mother of Pearl buttons.

The surface of the cloth is printed using natural pigments extracted from the Akita cedar tree and bears a soft wood-grain pattern. Surface printing in natural dyes is an extremely rare technique and takes a high level of precision to be executed correctly. With wear, washing, and exposure to sunlight expect the patterns to fade and soften slightly.
